The angel played a crucial role in the whole process of Mary’s conception of Jesus.  Angels are also widely used as a Christmas décor since it can deliver a positive atmosphere in our homes.  Although, at times, angels are also collected by several collectors, they can add beauty to every dull Christmas décor that we have.  Christmas angels come in a variety of forms, sizes and look.  It is being sold in the market and some may cost a bit expensive especially if made in special materials.  As for simple hanging angels, they can be easy done in minutes.  This goes well with Christmas balls, garlands and other known Christmas decorations.

This tutorial will help you create an adorable Christmas angle without ruining your budget.  You can make a group of angels from this project and this would make you decorations complete and ready for the holiday season.  If you are ready, then let us begin making this!

Gather all materials needed for this tutorial:

  • a small styro ball
  • a popsicle stick
  • ½ cm wide red satin ribbon
  • a pair of scissors
  • hot glue
  • a piece of yellow and beige or white construction paper
  • a piece of red or maroon construction board


Step 1:  Cut the cardboard into two parts.  One is one-third of the total size of the cardboard while the other part is two-thirds.

Step 2:  Fold one-third cardboard into several zigzags.  The width of each fold would depend on your preference.

Step 3:  Hot glue one side of the folder board to the popsicle stick.  Make sure that the inner end of the cardboard is situated in the middle part of the popsicle stick.

Step 4:  Stretch the free part of the zigzag cardboard and reach the other part of the popsicle stick.

Step 5:  Hot glue the other free end of the zigzag cardboard to the popsicle stick.  This will be the angel’s arms.

Step 6:  Get the other two-thirds cardboard and do the same zigzag folding on it.  Make sure that it has the same width as the first one.

Step 7:  Put the ends together on the other side of the two-thirds cardboard and hot glue it on the middle part of the popsicle stick where the one-third cardboard was glued.  This will serve as the angel’s main robe.

Step 8:  Cut a small concave from the white or beige construction paper.   Create some designs on the curved part of the concave.

Step 9:  Hot glue the concave paper on top of the angel’s body.  Make sure that the linear part of the concave is parallel to the popsicle stick of the angel’s body.  This will serve as the upper part body of the angel’s robe.

Step 10: Hot glue the styro ball on top of the popsicle stick or the arms of the angel.  This will be the angel’s head.

Step 11:  Cut a small star from the yellow construction paper.

Step 12: Hot glue the star in the middle of the white or beige concave part of the angel’s body.

Step 13:   Cut a small piece of red satin ribbon and glue the ends together.  This will be used to hang the angel.

Step 14:  Generously glue the red satin ribbon on top of the angel’s head.

Step 15:  Tada!  Done!  You can now hang your adorable Christmas angel anywhere you want!

Make several of this Christmas angels and you can hang them as a group on your tree in the garden, on your porch or even on your big Christmas tree.  They would definitely add flavor to your Christmas spirit.  This is very economic and simple to make.  Hope you like it!  Happy holidays!
